About Taste America Las Vegas

BACKGROUND
The annual James Beard Foundation Taste America is a national celebration of food, the arts of the table, and American cuisine. This year we're gearing up for another spectacular iteration of Taste America as we bring some of America's greatest chefs-winners of the James Beard Foundation's regional Best Chef Awards and other JBF Award winners-to Las Vegas, the country's newest and most exciting dining destination.

The James Beard Foundation Taste America Las Vegas (October 24-26, 2008) will include signature dinners at the best restaurants in the finest hotels on the Strip, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, panel discussions, and a gala dinner prepared by our regional award winners and the chefs of the stunning new Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino.

Inaugurated in honor of the James Beard Foundation's 20th anniversary, Taste America provides a forum to learn about unique aspects of America's food and food culture, the opportunity to sample the cooking of the finest chefs throughout the country, and a venue for gourmet enthusiasts and industry professionals to come together and share in the bounty of the American food revolution. In 2007 Taste America brought festivities to 20 cities across the country. More than 160 chefs, cookbook authors, culinary experts, and children's culinary education instructors scattered across the country to bring our mission to celebrate, nurture, and preserve America's culinary heritage and diversity-and James Beard's legacy-to the nation's most celebrated culinary regions.
